Tenzing Norgay

Tenzing Norgay was Nepalese mountaineer. He was one of the most famous mountain climbers in history. Norgay, along with Sir Edmund Hillary, was the first person to reach the summit of Mount Everest. He accomplished this on May 29th, 1953.

Norgay was named by time as one of the 100 most influential people of the 21st century.

After Norgay climbed Mount Everest he became the first ever director of Field Training of the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute.
